Leadership

 
Lenny Jurden graduated from Southern Methodist University with a concentration in accounting. He started his career with the accounting firm of Arthur Young (now Ernst & Young), during which time he earned his certified public accountant designation.  Jurden also earned his Juris Doctorate, and spent time in private practice counseling a wide range of corporate clients, including a number of public companies, on transactional, securities and general corporate matters. 
 
Before coming to Cohen-Esrey in early 2006, Jurden spent a number of years involved with start up companies, serving both as chief financial officer and president. He now serves as managing director of the tax credit business unit.
Lee is a 1975 graduate of Kansas State University, where he earned a bachelor’s of science degree in economics. Upon graduation he joined Cohen-Esrey Real Estate Services, LLC, where he now serves as president. He is a Certified Property Manager through the Institute of Real Estate Management and CRE designated by the Counselors of Real Estate. Harris has been personally involved in the management of more than 50,000 multi-family units and 25 million square feet of office building, industrial and shopping center space throughout the country. He has worked with real estate investment trusts, insurance companies, pension funds, banks, savings and loans, developers, government agencies, and corporate and individual investors.

In 1979 Harris became a member of the Institute of Real Estate Management’s Academy of Authors by publishing numerous articles regarding the commercial real estate industry. He has written a wide range of articles for The Journal of Property Management, Affordable Housing Finance Magazine, Apartment Finance Today, Scotsmen Guide, Real Estate Issues, and a number of other publications. He was the 1986 president of the Kansas City IREM Chapter and was the Chapter’s 1988 recipient of the Certified Property Manager of the Year award.
Bob is a graduate of Denison University and began his career in commercial real estate in 1964. He has managed more than 60,000 multi-family units and 27 million square feet of commercial space in nearly 200 markets across the United States. As a Certified Property Manager (CPM) and Counselor of Real Estate (CRE), Esrey has taken an active role in leasing, brokerage, syndication, consulting and, most notably, property management.

Bob has given countless hours serving professional associations locally, regionally and nationwide. These positions include: past president of the Kansas City IREM Chapter, former president of the National Apartment Association, former president of the Missouri Association of Realtors and president of the Metropolitan Kansas City Board of Realtors. Respected for his integrity and dedication, Esrey has received the Property Manager of the Year Award for the IREM chapter, and Realtor of the Year from the Missouri Association of Realtors. In addition, he is a member of several area boards.
W. Dave Wakefield is a graduate of the University of Kansas with a B.S.J. in journalism. He began his career with the Southland Corporation, where he rose from store manager to a zone-level deptartment head over 11 years, working mainly in sales and operations. When Southland underwent a reverse buyout in 1988, Dave left to spend five years in direct sales as a licensed security and insurance broker with a leading KC financial services firm. He was hired by a client to become vice president of marketing, where he tripled sales volume from one to over $7 million in three years.

Since then he has served as director of marketing and sales for a regional KC firm, and as vice president of international business development and later as president for an international product company with sales in over 70 countries. Between executive positions, Dave served as a business consultant for a number of private and public firms including Sprint and Wells Fargo.

Most recently, Dave was chief business development officer for a $20-million-revenue Kansas-headquartered public firm selling infrastructure solutions to clients worldwide.
Dave joined Cohen-Esrey Capital Partners in November 2009 and serves as the director of business development.

Carol Lowe joined Cohen-Esrey Capital Partners in 2011 and serves as Director of State Tax Credits. Since 2000, CECP and its affiliates have made a market in state historic and state low-income housing tax credits in numerous states. These credits are both certificated and allocated, and Lowe identifies developers and investors for direct placement of credits or through funds created by CECP. In her role, she handles the due diligence, legal documentation and transfer process. 

Prior to joining Cohen-Esrey, Lowe was Vice President of Lending Operations at Frontier Farm Credit, a $1.3 billion association located in the eastern half of Kansas. She led large initiative projects including a process redesign which resulted in a 26% increase in volume the first year. She also led a company-wide CRM implementation and the construction of five new lending offices over a period of seven years. She is a Certified Leadership Development Trainer and has extensive experience in working with team development.

Lowe also has 15 years of experience in the banking industry at Independence State Bank and Union National Bank in the areas of lending, new accounts and IRA’s.   She is personally an investor in residential real estate.

Lowe is a graduate of Kansas State University and holds a degree in education.
