Jon Atlas currently serves as the Managing Director of Cohen-Esrey Development Group. In this role, he oversees the development and construction teams, which source, analyze, finance, and build market rate and affordable housing development projects across the country. Jon has many years of housing, tax credit, and policy experience.
Prior to joining Cohen-Esrey in 2015, Jon was a vice president at JP Morgan in Chicago, where he underwrote and closed more than 40 LIHTC transactions across the country, encompassing $500 million in equity and approximately $1 billion in total development cost. He previously worked for National Equity Fund as an associate fund manager, raising LIHTC equity from institutional tax credit investors. In addition, Jon served as a legislative assistant for two members of Congress in Washington, D.C., advising them on a variety of topics including housing, economic development, taxes, and public safety.
Jon graduated from Duke University, where he received a degree in public policy studies. He also has a master’s degree in business administration from the University of Chicago with concentrations in finance, economics, and entrepreneurship.
